KENYA PATRIOTS PARTY MANIFESTO. SHORT VERSION
KPP herein referred to as “The Party” or “KPP”) is a registered political party under Political Parties Act 2011 or any other Act amending or replacing the same.
KPP embraces Social economic democracy as an ideology. It believes in equal opportunities, fair distribution of wealth and real possibilities. Mixed Market Economy is our best choice for progressive development.
KPP is non religious, sect or cult. KPP members have freedom of worship as guaranteed in the Constitution of Kenya 2010. Members have the right to or not to practice religion.
KPP Symbol is a wheel.. Our Party flag is of mixed colors of black and red.
The party membership is open to Kenyans who meet the Party membership requirements, and who promise to honor the Party Constitution, internal rules, obligations, code of conduct and all levels of subscriptions. All members are equal by registration and treatment.
The Party membership includes men, women, youth, the minority, the marginalized, persons with disabilities as per the Constitution of Kenya 2010 and the law.
The Party is founded on the democratic principles of good governance, Peace, Basic and Human rights, Constitutional rights and freedoms, the Bill of Rights as enshrined in the Kenya Constitution 2010 and the laws of Kenya.
Opportunities, integrity and equality are our torch.
After winning general elections KPP shall form a government that embraces the tenets of a government created for the sole purpose of enhancing good governance, respect of the bill of rights and human rights, equality, equal chances in sharing and distribution of national wealth, individual and group freedoms, justice, democracy and a rule of just laws.
To achieve its objectives and in order to be realistic and well represented without making election winners to be only those with money ability to perform costly campaigns, KPP shall advocate for change of 2010 constitution for the formation of an election system known as Proportional Representation.
KPP government shall be transparent and accountable to the electorate and shall defend, implement and honor the Constitution of Kenya, and allow it to be amended when real need arises for the good of the peoples of Kenya.
KPP government shall promote policy alternatives responding to the
interests, the concerns and the needs of the citizens of Kenya
KPP government shall at all times protect, support and advocate the rights of the minority, the marginalized, human dignity, social justice, equal opportunities, democracy, and fight against corruption and impunity in all areas affected by it. KPP shall campaign for the introduction of a semi state welfare for children, the aged and needy, the jobless parents, and people with disabilities in all counties.
The Party recognizes gender balance of no less than a third in either gender male and female. Where possible the party will have a 50-50 gender in its leadership.
Among other aspirations our commitment shall also shall be;
1) To establish a democratic and constitutional government of Kenya within the framework of a pluralistic democracy.
2) To continue to increase County Funds as the economy grows. The aim is to make County Governments self – reliant and to deliver reliable and effective services to their residents. Enhancement of Devolution shall be given priority.
3) To pursue and protect Civil, Political, Economic, Religious, Social or Cultural Rights, Freedoms of the individual and groups inter alia. Protect the right to life and human dignity, just trials and fairness before the law. In a KPP government there shall be freedom of living, owning property and
employment at any location in the country. The right to land for the minority shall be equal with all others.
4) KPP shall protect the right to freedom of movement and association, thought, conscience, peaceful expression, the right to participate in public affairs, and the right to work and enjoy favorable working conditions.
5) To pursue and promote the rule of law and the separation of the powers between the arms of Government, namely: the Legislature, Executive, Judiciary and County Government.
6) KPP government shall promote the practice of free and fair elections.
7) KPP shall campaign for practical implementation of the Bill of Rights enshrined in the Constitution of Kenya and ensure the repeal of all unjust oppressive laws and promote law reform in accordance with the principles of natural justice.
8) KPP will reconsider some laws with an aim making them operational in real life situations. Especially when National stability and the economy are at risk due to wrong influence and careless acts by power wealth hungry individuals.
9) KPP shall make sure of the improvement of general health, education and welfare services so as to raise the standard and quality life of the peoples of Kenya.
10)To encourage and promote a strong co-operative movement managed and controlled by the members.
11)To enhance the cultural life of Kenyans in all spheres of National Development.
12)To promote the protection of all justly and rightfully owned properties. Protect utilities, natural resources, i.e. the improvement, management, and conservation of the environment and responsible utilization of all land.
13)To effectively fight corruption in all ways and recover all stolen lands and money while sending the culprits to prison.
14)KPP shall amend the constitution to enable justice to be done by our courts without bias or politicized sentences being selectively administered. All shall be equal within the law. The judiciary must have an eye watching over its staff to make sure justice is delivered in the right manner and well on time.
15)To create political and social awareness among Kenyans in all Public matters, issues and policies with a view to enhancing and maintaining a just, open, peaceful and democratic society. Public participation shall be fully implemented as per the 2010 constitution through direct or representative engagement.
16)We shall support our local and international organizations or groupings in line with our goal to achieve rapid social economic development through sound innovations, science and technology.
17)To campaign for an East African federal government that includes Somalia and Sudan, Tanzania, Uganda, Rwanda and Burundi.
18)To advocate and promote respect for the 1979 United Nation Conventions for the Elimination of all form of discrimination against women i.e. to guard against all forms of discrimination against women and ensure that such practices are punishable by law.
19)To pursue, promote and protect the rights of workers in their demands for just salaries, commensurate with their labor contribution and in line with the costs of living. To strengthen the rights of workers to negotiate freely with the employers, and the right to industrial action.
20)To respect the right of all persons to participate in the political process including youth, minorities and marginalized groups.
21)To promote politics of reason and patriotism, respect and promote gender equity and equality, human rights and fundamental freedoms.
22)To promote African Unity, regional and sub-regional co-operation and integration.
23)To work with regional political parties and pressure groups that support the advancement of the African people and the creation of an African Government.
24)To advocate, promote and comply with the United Nations International Bill of Human Right, the African Charter of Human and People’s Right and the Convention against Torture and other Cruel, inhuman or Degrading Treatment and any other internationally and locally recognized democratic conventions.
25)KPP shall at all times listen to all voices of the majority and the minority as they seek justice and protection by law.
26)KPP shall keep updating its objectives while making sure its manifesto goes in line with its members’ aspirations.
